Hamilton Trophy - Ayrshire v Clackmannan and Kinross County - posted on Saturday 23rd of May, 2009

The Wee County travelled to Ayr for our toughest test yet, to meet an Ayrshire team that beat us by a clear 35 shots last season and went on to win the league. With both clubs having won both of their previous games this season, there was everything to play for.

Clackmannan got off to an excellent start, being 14-1 up after the first end, but Ayr fought back and moved into a narrow lead by the 8th end - a lead they held onto until the final end.

The final score was 130 -120, so only 10 shots in it, but the result leaves the Wee County needing a victory over Stirling County this week at Alloa Co-op, to stay in with a chance of finishing in the top two. Both Dollar representatives, Ian and Ian Inglis retain their starting places for next week's game. C'mon the Wee Coonty!
